Wow - that research is amazing - so interesting. I used to do affirmations in the mirror with my eldest (Joseph) when he was young to try and boost his self esteem. We were talking about it the other day and he said "all it did was make me cry" π¬ Its a tough one to do but i will try x
I am thankful that my body continues to function despite the impact of chronic disease and inflammation. Maybe I can help it to heal by being kind to it. I give so much of myself to others - at home and at work (in a caring profession). I need to reserve some of that energy and compassion for myself.
Oh just remembered that for years I have told my daughter P ' you are brave, beautiful, smart and strong'. I used to trace the letters BBSS on her hand at the same time. Even now if she is wobbly I can trace those letters with my finger and she visibly responds positively.
Interesting research and cool photos! Reminds me of the experiments where people were either kind or vile to plants and the abused ones didn't grow properly.
I mainly talk kindly to myself..I was fortunate to grow up in a family where our parents were loving and thought we we great most of the time. I have been pretty happy with my body, never been on any kind of diet until very recently. I have struggled to accept weight gain that has come with middle age and too much stress eating .
Wow - those photos of waters response to positive words are AMAZING. When I've time I'm going to find out more about that research. As for me I am get better at speaking kindly to and about myself.

I am sure it would help you heal if you can be as kind to your body as you are to others x
